Using NABS Confidence
Copilot Chat @retro
@retro is a chat participant. It answers questions about the retros in the repository you have open. It needs GitHub Copilot Chat, installed and enabled.
Ask it
- Open the Chat view.
- Start a message with
@retro. - Use a slash command, or ask in your own words.
| You type | What it does |
|---|---|
@retro /insights | Looks at the latest retro’s period: commits, hot files, issues, pull requests and discussions, framed around the objectives that retro focuses on. |
@retro /feedback | Summarises the latest retro’s feedback. This reply does not edit the retro. A button offers Write the summary into the retro if you want that. |
@retro /objectives | How the team is tracking against the objectives the latest retro focuses on, from the criteria, measures, evidence, Copilot’s assessment and the team’s verdict. You can add a question, for example @retro /objectives what's stopping us meeting ac1? |
@retro what did we agree about flaky tests last time? | A free-form question. The model can list retros, read one, read its feedback, and look up Git or GitHub activity for a date range. |
If the latest retro has no objectives, /objectives says so and offers Choose Retro Objectives. If there is no feedback yet, /feedback offers Add Feedback. If there are no retros, it offers New Retro.
For /objectives, the team’s verdict is treated as the final call. When it overrides Copilot, the answer is supposed to give the team’s reason. The same caution applies as everywhere else: the model is instructed to stay with what was recorded. Check the reply against the retro.
Tools you can name yourself
The same read-only tools can be used from Copilot agent mode, or named in a prompt:
#retroslists the retros.#retroreads one retro. Pass the date asYYYY-MM-DD.#retroFeedbackreads that retro’s feedback entries.#retroGitActivitysummarises commits for a start and end date. Merge commits are excluded. It covers the history you have checked out.#retroGitHubActivitylists issues, pull requests and discussions in a date range, up to 50 of each. It needs the github.com remote and a sign-in.
Archived retros are not in those files any more. @retro is told which retros were archived and is given their Discussion links, up to 20 of them. It cannot read a file that has been removed.
@retro does not appear when GitHub Copilot Chat is missing or disabled. Summaries and assessments inside the panels use nabsConfidence.useAI. Chat uses the model you picked in the Chat view.
